Australia have run New Zealand ragged by dominating with the bat to reach stumps on 389-2 on day one of the first Test in Brisbane.
David Warner and Usman Khawaja, who was making his return to the Test fold, managed to claim centuries, while New Zealand's bowlers, including Trent Boult, Doug Bracewell, Mark Craig and Kane Williamson, failed to strike.
Joe Burns and Warner opened the batting on home turf, and they looked very comfortable at the crease as they reached a 161-run partnership before the first wicket was taken.
It was Burns who fell as he edged to BJ Watling off the bowling of Tim Southee to leave the field on 71 runs.
The dismissal did not trouble Australia, though, as Warner and Khawaja passed 300 before the former was sent packing on 163 after he was caught out by Ross Taylor off James Neesham's delivery.
Steve Smith, who is trying to leapfrog England's Joe Root back into the top spot of the ICC Test batting rankings, closed the day unbeaten on 41, alongside Khawaja, who is 102 not out.
