Australia will take a lead of 348 runs into day five of the fourth and final Test against India as they close in on victory at Sydney.
The tourists were bowled out for 475 before tea at the Sydney Cricket Ground, and by the end of play the Aussies had reached 251-6 off 40 overs in their second innings.
Joe Burns (66) and Steve Smith (70) helped rack up the runs, while Chris Rogers (56) and Brad Haddin (31*) also played their part, with bad light and rain bringing play to an end.
Having seen David Warner go for four, Shane Watson (16) was next to exit when he played onto his stumps off Ravichandran Ashwin, while Rogers was sent packing by Suresh Raina after reaching another half-century.
Shaun Marsh made just one run before he edged Ashwin to Murali Vijay, and the in-form Smith was trapped in front by Mohammed Shami.
The final over of the day saw Burns depart when he top-edged Ashwin to Umesh Yadav, leaving the hosts on 251-6 and in a position where they are likely to declare overnight.
