Bangladesh all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad has expressed his joy at scoring his nation's first World Cup century, but believes that the team may be a few runs short following their Pool A innings against England in Adelaide.
The 29-year-old hit 103 runs off 138 balls to help push Bangladesh to 275-7 after 50 overs in a match that England need to win.
"[I'm] feeling very good, but I would have been very happy to score a few more," espncricinfo.com quotes Mahmudullah as saying. "I think we are 15 to 20 runs short. When Soumya and I were batting we just wanted to keep it up and bat well. Same thing when I was with Mushy.
"Today is a very special game for us as we do have a chance, but we need to bowl in the right areas and make sure the fielders are put into the right areas. I think it is slowing up a bit, so we are looking to get some early wickets. We must take all our chances in the field. It will be very crucial."
Should England win today, they will need to also secure victory over Afghanistan in their next match in order to give themselves a chance of reaching the knockout rounds.
