Bangladesh have reached tea on the first day of the second Test against South Africa on 154-3 thanks to an unbroken partnership between Mahmudullah Riyad and Mushfiqur Rahim.
Riyad was unbeaten on 25 off 65 balls at the end of the second session, while Rahim reached 42 from 72 deliveries at the Shere Bangla National Stadium.
Following the earlier loss of Tamim Iqbal (6) before lunch, South Africa took two more wickets to take control in Mirpur.
Mominul Haque (40) was caught behind shortly before Imrul Kayes (30) was himself sent packing to leave Bangladesh on 86-3, which paved the way for Rahim and Riyad to steady things somewhat.
