Stuart Broad not interested in Australia mind games

Stuart Broad says that England will not entertain any attempts Australia make to play mind games during the upcoming Ashes tour.

Stuart Broad has said that England are not interested in playing mind games with Australia during the upcoming Ashes tour Down Under.

The tourists are gunning for their second-straight series victory over their old enemy, following on from a 3-1 triumph two years ago.

Meanwhile, the home side have not tasted success since a 5-0 whitewash in 2006, and Darren Lehmann's side are desperate to make amends this winter.

Australia skipper Michael Clarke claims that England counterpart Alastair Cook told him his lineup for the first Test in Brisbane, and announced it during a press conference on Tuesday.

However, Broad played down the claim, and stated that all the talking in the build-up will not matter once the players cross the boundary.

"Everyone is talking about The Ashes now, especially in Australia," the 27-year-old told Sky Sports News. "I think the Aussies are excited about their chances but for an England side, the 17 guys in the squad, it is not important what people from Australia and Cricket Australia say.

"We are here to play cricket, to play tough cricket, and to make sure that we get ourselves ready for that because you do your talking on the field - and that is something England do.

"I've not seen much of [the team news] to be honest. I don't know the side and I'm pretty close to the skipper so I don't know how the Aussie skipper knows."

The first Test gets underway on November 23.
