Australia bowl out England for 103 in just 37 overs to win the second Ashes Test at Lord's.

Australia have won the second Ashes Test at Lord's this afternoon by 405 runs to level up the ongoing series at one victory apiece.

The tourists were comfortably beaten in Cardiff last week, but the two sides will now head to Edgbaston on Wednesday, July 29 with everything to play for.

Having collapsed during the afternoon session to 64-5 in search of a 509 victory target, England returned after the tea interval with Joe Root at the crease alongside wicketkeeper Jos Buttler.

Yet, within the first over, the wicket of Buttler and his replacement Moeen Ali had been claimed by Aussie bowler Mitchell Johnson without the home side having added to their score.

There was some momentary respite once Stuart Broad joined Root, but the former was dismissed for a quickfire 25 when he chipped straight to Adam Voges off the bowling of Nathan Lyon to leave England on the brink of defeat on 101-8.

Then, in the following over, Root's resistance was broken when Josh Hazlewood, who had replaced Johnson at the Pavilion End, kept a delivery low to remove the England batsman's bails.

That brought James Anderson to the crease and the bowler lasted just five balls without having troubled the scorecard to seal Australia's victory in 37 overs, with England all out for 103.

The loss was the fourth heaviest that England have suffered in their Test history.
