Australia dominate on day three of the second Ashes Test at Lord's to open up a 362-run lead over England.

Australia have opened up a 362-run lead over England at stumps on day three of the second Ashes Test at Lord's.

The hosts were bowled out earlier in the day for 312, but the tourists put themselves back into bat rather than enforce the follow-on.

Chris Rogers and David Warner then went on to make unbeaten knocks of 44 and 60 respectively to put the Aussies in firm control of the match with a second-innings score of 108-0.

Starting the day on 85-4, England made it to 181-5 at lunch after Ben Stokes saw his partnership with Alastair Cook broken when he was bowled by Mitchell Marsh for 87.

Cook continued to toil away at the crease during the afternoon session alongside Jos Buttler, though it was the latter who was next to go as Peter Nevill and Nathan Lyon combined to dismiss him for 13.

England's misery was compounded before tea when Cook was bowled by Marsh just four runs shy of what would have been his 28th Test century, leaving the home side on 285-7 heading into the final session of the day.

The Three Lions needed 367 to avoid the follow-on, but they failed to get there as Moeen Ali (39), Stuart Broad (21) and Mark Wood (four) all failed to put up any resistance.

Australia captain Michael Clarke opted to put Australia back in to bat for the remainder of the evening session, allowing Rogers and Warner to attack England with some dynamic shots and put Australia in a commanding position to level the series.
