James Anderson faces being banned for England's fourth Test against India at Old Trafford next month after an August 1 date was set for his ICC disciplinary hearing.
The 31-year-old is defending himself on a Level 3 charge for allegedly "abusing and pushing" India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja in the first Test draw at Trent Bridge.
Should the Lancashire seamer be found guilty, he could miss the match at his home ground, which begins on August 7. The maximum suspension for Anderson's supposed offence is four Tests.
Jadeja is also under interrogation for a reported confrontation with Anderson in the pavilion, but is almost certain to avoid a ban even if match referee David Boon finds him guilty of his Level 2 charge.
Anderson, who has this summer become England's leading wicket taker in home Test matches, will discover his fate 48 hours after the hearing. England trail the five-match series 1-0 after losing at Lord's.
