England powered into a 256 run lead on day two of the third Test against India at Edgbaston.
The hosts ended the day on a dominant 456-3, with Alistair Cook hitting an unbeaten 182.
Cook and fellow opener captain Andrew Strauss began the day with 84 runs on the board and extended their partnership to 186 before Strauss was bowled off of a no-ball from Amit Mishra.
Ian Bell contributed 34 runs before being bowled by Praveen Kumar, while Cook continued to hit the Indian attack around the Birmingham ground.
A combative Kevin Pietersen was next to join Cook at the crease, eventually going lbw for 64 off of the bowling of Kumar, who proved the tourists' most dangerous bowler.
Eoin Morgan was similarly attack-minded but should have been caught twice, dropped by Sreesanth on 17 and Dravid in the final over of the day, before ending the final session on 44.
