England's bowlers dominate India on day three of the third Test at the Ageas Bowl.

A persistent bowling display has seen England dominate India again on day three of the third Test at the Ageas Bowl.

The tourists lost seven wickets at the close of play to put them on 323-8, 246 runs behind their opponents.

India started the day 544 runs behind on 25-1 before the dismissals of Cheteshwar Pujara and Murali Vijay put them in further trouble at lunch.

Pujara was the first to go when he was caught behind by Jos Buttler off the bowling of Stuart Broad for 24. Broad then struck again soon after as Vijay was sent back for 35, leaving India on 108-3 heading into the afternoon.

However, a positive morning session for England was marred when Ian Bell was forced off the field after receiving a blow to his thumb. The batsman was sent for an X-ray before emerging in the stands later on with an ice pack strapped to his hand.

India then lost two further wickets at tea to put them on 214-5, 355 runs behind England.

Virat Kohli's time at the crease was ended when he was caught by Alastair Cook for 39 following a James Anderson delivery. India were dealt another blow late on in the afternoon session as Rohit Sharma fell to Moeen Ali after making a knock of 28.

Ajinkya Rahane put up some resistance out in the middle courtesy of a stoic 54, but he was dismissed early in the evening session as substitute fielder Sean Terry caught him out by the boundary after another ball from Ali.

Ravindra Jadeja was next to go when he was bowled lbw by Anderson for 31 before Bhuvneshwar Kumar was sent back to the pavilion by Broad for 19 to cap a disappointing day for the away side.

Captain MS Dhoni's unbeaten knock of 50 has given India some hope heading into the fourth day, but they will need to get to 370 if they want to avoid the follow-on.
