England need to take just three more Indian wickets before they can start chasing down a victory target to win the second Test.

England took three Indian wickets in the first session on day four of the second Test against India at Lord's today.

Although India were able to add almost 100 runs in the opening session, wickets did fall and a result now looks likely either way with a day and a half of play remaining.

Day four started slowly with overnight men Murali Vijay and MS Dhoni frustrating the hosts before Liam Plunkett made the breakthrough - Dhoni (19) edging to Ian Bell at second slip.

The next wicket came soon after, with Stuart Binny going for a duck after a careless shot off the bowling of Moeen Ali was well caught by England skipper Alastair Cook.

India's seventh wicket fell half an hour before lunch and it was a key one for England as they got Vijay out five runs short of his century.

James Anderson, with the new ball, got one to nip away that Vijay edged through to wicket-keeper Matt Prior.

Ravindra Jadeja provided some resistance as lunch approached, scoring 37 runs off just 30 balls with six boundaries.

He is joined at the crease by Bhuvneshwar Kumar (13), with India 267-7 in their second innings, leading by 243 runs.
