Stuart Broad has agreed a new three-year contract with County Championship side Nottinghamshire.
The 27-year-old is centrally contracted with the ECB, but the terms of his fresh deal would come into force should he lose his position within the England setup.
"Stuart is an excellent player and asset to this club," said Nottinghamshire's director of cricket Mick Newell.
"To have someone of his quality available to us at certain points in the season gives us an extra edge, and he was influential in securing the Yorkshire Bank 40 trophy for us at Lord's."
The England bowler started his career with Leicestershire, but he has been at Trent Bridge since 2008.
