England's Jos Buttler feels "elated" after making history in ODI series win

England's Jos Buttler says that he feels "elated" to have made history on the way to helping the team clinch their one-day international series against Pakistan.

England wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler has admitted that he feels "elated" to have made history in his side's 3-1 victory over Pakistan in their one-day international series.

The 25-year-old scored the fastest ever ODI century by an Englishman by reaching the figure off 46 balls.

Buttler's unbeaten knock of 116 helped England claim an 84-run victory, which in turn gave the team the series.

"I feel elated," Buttler told Sky Sports News. "It was a fantastic day. I don't really understand how it can turn around so fast. I was thinking of retiring two weeks ago! I think the format change came at the right time for me, to free me up. Everyone's said I've been a bit more relaxed with the white ball around.

"It was [Eoin Morgan's] decision to promote me - he gave me the chance to chance my arm. In the last few overs, you try to never get too one-dimensional. There's a lot of shots that are 100% premeditated, but you have to have another option if the ball doesn't go where it wants to go.

"It's great being a young group and having talent, but we do need to win and we've come here and done it and the confidence it gives us, you can't underestimate it."

England lost the first match, but went on to claim three victories on the bounce.
