England captain Alastair Cook has insisted that he has no problems with the criticism he has received since taking charge of the team.

There were calls for the 29-year-old to resign following the disastrous tour of Australia in the winter, but ahead of the first Test against Sri Lanka he has claimed that the comments will not have an impact on him.

"I am concentrating on doing the job the best I can," Cook told reporters at Lord's. "If people want to criticise, they criticise.

"I am very privileged to be England captain. I love doing it but if it no longer happens, then that's the way it is.

"But I will be very proud to stay England captain. I love doing it and all I try and do every day is my best."

Moeen Ali, Chris Jordan and Sam Robson are all set to make their Test debut at Lord's on Thursday.
