The ECB has confirmed that Ben Stokes is returning to England's one-day international squad for their upcoming games.
Stokes has not participated in a 50-over match for his country since playing against South Africa at Chester-le-Street - his home ground - in July 2022.
However, the 32-year-old has been tempted into returning to the limited-over arena, just like he was with the T20 equivalent last year, ahead of the World Cup in India.
England will warm-up for the tournament with four ODIs against New Zealand, with the first of those fixtures scheduled for September 8.
As well as Stokes switching his attention to the shorter format of the game, Surrey pace bowler Gus Atkinson has also been included in the squad and is likely to make his international debut.
There are no other surprises in the 15-player group with a total of six players that featured in the Ashes being selected for the quartet of encounters against the Black Caps.
Meanwhile, the T20 squad named for four matches versus the same opposition between August 30 and September 5 features three debutants in Atkinson, Josh Tongue and John Turner.
Atkinson has recently impressed in The Hundred, taking nine wickets in four matches, while Tongue will want to continue to make an impact for his country having claimed five wickets during the second Ashes Test versus Australia.
South-African born Turner, who is 22 years of age, could make his international bow after just 12 domestic T20 fixtures, from which he has taken 22 wickets at a strike-rate of a wicket every 11 balls.
