Incoming ECB chairman Colin Graves warns that there could be repercussions should England fail to beat a "mediocre" West Indies side in the upcoming three-Test series.

Incoming England and Wales Cricket Board chairman Colin Graves has warned that there will be "inquiries" made should England fail to win the upcoming Test series with West Indies.

Serious questions have been asked of the national team following their disastrous World Cup campaign, and the spotlight will be on the Test side when they begin their three-match series in the Caribbean on April 13.

Graves does not start his new role until May 15, but he is fully expecting England to triumph over a "mediocre" West Indies side, and suggested that there may be repercussions should they fail to do so.

"I'd certainly be disappointed if we don't win the West Indies series, because I am pretty sure the West Indies are going to have a mediocre team," Graves told BBC Radio Leeds.

"A lot of their stars are going to be playing in the Indian Premier League anyway, not in the Tests, so we should win that series.

"If we don't win, I can tell you now there will be some inquiries of why we haven't."

England's last Test series saw them triumph 3-1 over India last summer.
