Manchester City have reportedly agreed personal terms with Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Omar Marmoush.
The 25-year-old has been the topic of intense transfer speculation over the past few weeks, with the player supposedly hoping for a move to the Etihad immediately.
Marmoush is enjoying a stellar 2024-25 campaign for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga, making the net ripple 13 times across 15 matches in the German top flight.
Also providing seven assists, the striker has shown an eye for a killer pass over recent months, a quality that is set to complement Kevin De Bruyne's talents on the blue side of Manchester.
As well as impressing at club level, Marmoush is also emerging as a star on the international scene alongside Mohamed Salah, having earned 35 caps for Egypt since 2021.
Man City 'reach full verbal agreement' with Marmoush
According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Manchester City are moving swiftly along in their quest to sign Marmoush in this window.
The report claims that the Premier League-winning Citizens and the 25-year-old have shaken hands on full terms regarding a switch to the Etihad.
With Marmoush keen to complete the transfer as quickly as possible, it is not a surprise to see that discussions between the player and potential suitor have progressed smoothly.
The next obstacle in the deal arrives in the form of an agreement between Man City and German contenders Eintracht Frankfurt on a transfer fee.
It is understood that the Bundesliga outfit are currently demanding up to £67m for Marmoush's services, a figure that Pep Guardiola's side are supposedly unwilling to fork out at this stage.
What will Marmoush bring to Man City?
With Man City looking set to relinquish control of the English crown, they are said to be preparing to make an initial bid for Marmoush this weekend.
The Citizens have won back-to-back matches in the top flight recently but are still languishing down in sixth, 12 points behind leaders Liverpool in the Premier League table.
While Man City have clearly missed the presence of Rodri from a defensive standpoint, there have also been issues in attack for Guardiola's side which Marmoush could alleviate.
Excluding 16-strike Erling Haaland, none of the Citizens' forward players have bagged more than twice in the Premier League during the current campaign. body check tags ::
