James Anderson will reportedly miss England's upcoming tour of Bangladesh due to a persistent shoulder injury.
The 34-year-old has been out of action since the fourth-Test loss to Pakistan in August as he recovers from a stress fracture to his right shoulder blade.
According to Sky Sports News, recent scans have revealed that the seam bowler will require a longer rest in order to fully recover from the problem and he will therefore not travel with the rest of Alastair Cook's squad to Chittagong on Thursday.
Jake Ball is expected to be named as his replacement for the two-Test series, which begins on October 20, with an announcement due on Thursday morning.
Anderson - England's record Test wicket-taker - is expected to return for the first Test in the tour of India in November.
