James Taylor admits his relief after leading England to victory over Australia with his maiden one-day international century.

England batsman James Taylor has admitted that he felt the pressure on his shoulders as he scored his maiden one-day international century in the 93-run victory over Australia at Old Trafford.

Taylor, who has been trusted with the responsibility of batting at three in place of the rested Joe Root, was dismissed in the 40s as England lost the first two ODIs, and he was quick to reveal his relief after being named man of the match in Tuesday's win.

"It was playing on my mind, I know it's not like me to give it away. I knew I had to kick on for the team," he told Sky Sports News after his 101 helped England to stay in the series.

"I had a man on my shoulder wanting to play the big shot quite a few times, but I knew the situation didn't let me do that.

"From a personal point of view, it's nice to get three figures, and the way the boys performed in a must-win game was outstanding. We did what we needed to do on a tough surface."

The fourth ODI takes place at Headingley on Friday.
