Nick Knight has insisted that England will not miss Kevin Pietersen, after the batsman retired from international limited-overs cricket last week.
Pietersen has been an integral part of England's one-day set-up for almost a decade but his form has been inconsistent in recent years.
That has resulted in former England opener Knight, who has since turned television pundit, to claim that England will be able to move on from Pietersen's shock retirement.
Knight said: "For the past two or three years, Pietersen has performed well below the expectations of him.
"I believe that the one-day set-up will be slightly better for having him out of the squad."
Pietersen's decision has come as a result of his intentions to prolong his Test career with England.
