Mark Footitt has rejected the offer of a contract extension from Derbyshire.
After taking more wickets than anyone else in the County Championship, the 29-year-old seamer was rewarded for his fine form this season with a spot in the England squad for the fourth Ashes Test following James Anderson's injury.
However, Footitt has been unable to prevent Derbyshire from struggling in Division Two and it is rumoured that he is eager to secure a move to Division One.
The former Nottinghamshire bowler, who has taken 56 first-class wickets this season, is believed to be in contention for a spot in the England squad ahead of the series with Pakistan in the UAE.
