Eoin Morgan has said that he is feeling "fresh" after taking a break from cricket in preparation for England's limited-overs series against Australia.
Morgan last played on August 1 when he was dismissed for a duck in a One-Day Cup game with Hampshire.
The Middlesex batsman's return for England saw him hit 74 off 39 balls, as they beat Australia by five runs in an international Twenty20 in Cardiff.
"I have been fresh mentally and physically, which has helped," Morgan told reporters. "It had been about 11 months since I had a break and that is a pretty long time.
"I have never asked for a break before and this time when I brought it up [Middlesex director of cricket] Angus Fraser was exceptional. He earmarked the one-day series and knew I had to be fresh for that so it has worked out well."
England and Australia will contest a five-match one-day international series, beginning at Southampton on Thursday.
