Kevin Pietersen has reiterated that he will try to get back into the England fold after he was handed a lifeline by new England and Wales Cricket Board chairman Colin Graves.
The 34-year-old was axed by the ECB last year following England's dismal Ashes campaign in Australia and has publicly slammed the governing body since his exile.
At the weekend, Graves suggested that the door is open for Pietersen as long as he gets back playing county cricket.
Today, Pietersen tweeted: "Incredibly humbling how supportive you've all been since the news broke yesterday from Mr Colin Graves. Gonna try work this out for sure!"
Current England batsman Joe Root responded to the speculation by describing it as "irrelevant".
