Kevin Pietersen hit an unbeaten 110 as England dominated the opening day of their final tour match before the Test series with India.
The 32-year-old's century, which came off 94 balls, capped off a fine day for England as they finished on 408-3 against Haryana.
Alastair Cook and Nick Compton put on a fine opening-wicket stand of 166 before Compton was dismissed for 74.
Cook fell for 97 to bring Pietersen to the crease and he delivered a timely reminder of his talent with 16 fours and three sixes before he retired hurt shortly before the close of play to allow Samit Patel some time in the middle.
Jonathan Trott and Ian Bell also scored 46 and 57 respectively as England's batsmen prepared for next week's opening test match in ideal fashion.
