Captain Joe Root has revealed that Ben Stokes will start for England in the third Test match against India.
Stokes has just spent seven days in court after an incident at a Bristol nightclub, but the all-rounder was handed an immediate recall to the squad having been found not guilty of affray.
A decision to put Stokes in contention for an outing at Trent Bridge has divided opinion, but Root has announced that the Durham player will play instead of Sam Curran.
At a press conference, Root told reporters: "He is desperate to get out there and wants to put in performances. I have known Ben from being really quite young and I feel very confident he will be able to go out and put in a performance."
England take a 2-0 lead into the third match of the best-of-five series.
