England have succumbed to defeat at the hands of Australia in the Twenty20 series after the hosts clinched the second match by eight wickets.
England have now suffered their 11th defeat in 12 games on tour Down Under, and it was a miserable start for the tourists in Melbourne today after they won the toss and chose to bat.
The opening partnership of Michael Lumb and Alex Hales was cut short after just 24 runs when Lumb was taken out for 18, while Luke Wright was dismissed for a duck by Mitchell Starc.
Wickets continued to tumble for England as they posted just 130-9, with Joss Buttler top-scoring by taking 22 from 27 balls.
Australia stormed out of the blocks with Cameron White and Aaron Finch during their reply, while England struggled to find the breakthrough on the field.
Finch was the first to go after taking 10 runs from 11 balls, and Glenn Maxwell later followed for two.
White (57 not out) and George Bailey (60 not out) eased towards Australia's target to wrap up the match and the series.
