England win the fourth ODI against Pakistan to remain on course for a series whitewash.

England have won the fourth ODI against Pakistan by four wickets to remain on course for a series whitewash.

The hosts went into the match having moved into an unassailable lead in record-breaking fashion on Tuesday, and they again eased to victory at Headingley.

Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat, and they made a solid start to proceedings despite Sami Aslam (24) and Sharjeel Khan (16) failing to build significant scores.

Captain Azhar Ali led the way with 80 runs off 104 deliveries, but there was a lack of support as Babar Azam (12), Sarfraz Ahmed (12) and Mohammad Rizwan (6) all struggled to provide a partnership.

Imad Wasim (57*) did help to increase the target, but with six of the final seven batsmen failing to get more than 13 runs, Pakistan were ultimately limited to a score of 247-8.

England's reply got off to a shaky start, with Jason Roy managing just 14 and Alex Hales (8) failing to match his heroics at Trent Bridge to leave the hosts 36-2.

Joe Root (30) and Eoin Morgan (11) also fell short of their previous performances, but it was the middle order that took England over the line as Ben Stokes (69) and Jonny Bairstow (61) both passed their half-centuries.

Moeen Ali carried on their good work with 45 off 48 deliveries, clinching the win with a six as England surpassed Pakistan's total with two overs to spare.
