Chasing a victory target of 171 set by the Indians in their innings, England showed a range of weaknesses when batting against spin bowlers.

Harbhajan Singh took 4-12 and Piyush Chawla claimed 2-13 as the defending champions recorded a 90-run win.

Opener Craig Kieswetter top scored for England with 35 runs before he caught by Virat Kohli off the bowling of Chawla.

Jos Buttler (12) and Jade Dernbach (11) were the only other England players to reach double figures.

Despite the loss, England advance through to Super Eights stage along with India.
