England must score 236 runs to win the third one-day international against Sri Lanka in Hambantota.

Sri Lanka have set Alastair Cook's England a victory target of 236 runs to win the rain-affected third one-day international between the two sides in Hambantota this afternoon.

With the hosts on 6-1, the umpires took the players off the field as the storm clouds descended over the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium, and they would not return for another three hours.

Once play resumed, Kumar Sangakkara scored 63 runs before he was caught by Moeen Ali off the bowling of Chris Jordan, while Angelo Mathews weighed in with a knock of 37 before he also fell to Jordan.

The rain meant that the match had been limited to 35 overs a side and as the Sri Lanka innings drew to a close, Lahiru Thirimanne (62) and Dhammika Prasad (21) took their team comfortably beyond the 200-run mark for the loss of eight wickets.

Sri Lanka went on to score 242 runs in total, but England's target is 236 under the Duckworth-Lewis method. The tourists currently trail the seven-match series 2-0.
