Chris Woakes impressed by taking 3-31 and Alex Hales hit an unbeaten 41 as England racked up a 237-run lead over Sri Lanka on day three of the third Test at Lord's.
Woakes struck twice in his four overs, causing the tourists to tumble from their overnight 162-1 to 288 all out and give England a first-innings advantage of 128.
Under-pressure England man Nick Compton was out for 19 and Jonny Bairstow was out for 32 before the close as the hosts lost three wickets for five runs in reply, but they eventually closed day three on 109-4.
Victory in this match will give England the series 3-0 following victories in the previous Tests at Headingley and Chester-le-Street.
