India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has urged his team to "retaliate" against England in the fourth Test match in Nagpur starting on Thursday.
The hosts lost the third match by seven wickets on Sunday and now trail 2-1 in the four-match series.
"We need to give the bowlers a few more runs, on this wicket we should have scored something close to 450," he said. "When the slide started in the second innings, we couldn't stop and that's where the game was lost.
"Everybody needs to pull up their socks, give their best and back each other, that's where you show your character. England played good cricket but we need to retaliate."
The defeat on Sunday was India's first at Eden Gardens since 1999.
