India have sealed a 5-0 victory in their one-day international series against Sri Lanka with a three-wicket triumph in Ranchi.
It is the first time that the Indians have whitewashed Sri Lanka in an ODI series since 1982.
Sri Lanka made a solid 286-8 from their 50 overs thanks to an unbeaten 139 from Angelo Mathews, but India responded by making 288-7 with eight balls remaining.
Mathews's impressive knock did most of the damage with the bat for Sri Lanka, while Tillakaratne Dilshan [35], Mahela Jayawardene [32] and Lahiru Thirimanne [52] were the only other players to reach double figures.
Dhawal Kulkarni took three wickets for India, with Stuart Binny, Akshar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin also getting in on the act with the ball.
Virat Kohli matched Mathews with an unbeaten 139 during India's run chase, while Ambati Rayudu (59), Kedar Jadhav (20) and Robin Uthappa (20) also contributed.
Mathews claimed two early wickets for Sri Lanka before Ajantha Mendis took four of his own, but they were unable to stop the Lions from slumping to a 5-0 series whitewash.
