All-rounder Matt Coles has returned to Kent following his departure from Hampshire.
The 24-year-old was released from his contract at the Ageas Bowl last week having 'failed to settle' since joining from Kent on a three-year deal in September 2013.
Canterbury academy graduate Coles made his first-class debut for the county in 2009 and wants to make a big impression in his second spell.
"I am delighted to be back at Kent and am looking forward to making a real go of my second spell here," he told the club's official website.
"I can't wait to get started and rekindle my love for the club."
The England Lions player took 41 wickets in 15 County Championship matches last summer as Hampshire won promotion to Division One, and a further 27 in the white-ball formats.
