Lancashire Lightning all-rounder Andrew Flintoff has said that he is "loving" his return to cricket.
The 36-year-old retired from the game in 2010 following a series of injuries, but recently returned to the sport to join his boyhood club, Lancashire.
Speaking to BBC Sport after his side booked their place in the T20 Blast quarter-finals courtesy of an 18-run victory over Leicestershire Foxes, Flintoff said that he is pleased to be back on the wicket.
He said: "I can't stop smiling every time I'm out there. I never thought I'd get the chance to play to play cricket again. It was just something I was chasing. Apart from getting hit over the head by complete strangers for six every game, I'm just really enjoying it.
"Now I go back into the dressing room and just sit there having won a game and it's almost like taking it all in.
"I think: 'How has this happened?'. Only a couple of years ago I was jumping off cliffs in Acapulco and riding bulls, and now I'm playing cricket. I'm just loving it."
Flintoff has scored 3,845 runs and taken 226 wickets in Test cricket.
