Former New Zealand all-rounder Chris Cairns has denied suggestions that he is at the centre of a match-fixing probe by the International Cricket Council.
Black Caps captain Brendon McCullum and former batsman Lou Vincent have reportedly both told anti-corruption investigators that they were approached by 'Player X' to fix cricket matches.
According to BBC Sport, Cairns said: "I am being asked whether I am 'Player X'. Based on the limited information I have received during this investigation, I believe it is being alleged that I am that player. These allegations against me are a complete lie."
The Daily Mail revealed this week that McCullum told investigators that a cricketing "hero" of his approached him in 2008 claiming that all the "big boys" in the game were involved in match-fixing.
