New Zealand hammer Bangladesh by 75 runs to go through to the semi-finals of the World Twenty20 with their 100% record intact.

New Zealand have gone through to the semi-finals of the World Twenty20 in India with a 100% record thanks to a comfortable 75-run win over Bangladesh in their last Super 10 group game.

The Black Caps, who had already guaranteed themselves a place in the final four, won the toss at Eden Gardens today and decided to bat first against winless Bangladesh.

The trio of Kane Williamson (42), Colin Munro (35) and Ross Taylor (28) scored the bulk of the runs as New Zealand posted 145-8 from their 20 overs.

Mustafizur Rahman was the pick of the Bangladeshi bowlers with a five-wicket haul for just 22 runs.

New Zealand removed dangerous opener Tamim Iqbal with a run-out in the second over and the wickets steadily tumbled throughout as Bangladesh were bowled out for just 70, their lowest-ever total in a T20 international.

Grant Elliott and Ish Sodhi finished with three wickets each and 10 of the 18 total wickets in the match were via a clean-bowling, a new T20 record.

Either India or Australia, who face off in a winner-takes-all match in Mohali tomorrow, will join New Zealand in advancing from Group 2.
