Ross Taylor's half-century sees New Zealand end day four of the second Test against Pakistan with a lead of 177 runs.

New Zealand have finished day four of the second Test against Pakistan on 167-6 to take an overall lead of 177 in Dubai.

The Black Caps stretched their advantage of 64 runs which they had built up coming into the day's final session, with Brendon McCullum leading the charge having stormed to 33 before tea.

McCullum was eventually sent packing after racking up 43 runs, while Ross Taylor looked at ease to end on an unbeaten 77 as New Zealand aim to level up the three-match series.

Zulfiqar Babar (3-60) and Yasir Shah (3-65) had halted the charge, but Taylor did well to stand up to the challenge and record a half-century, which helped rescue his side somewhat following Sarfraz Ahmed's third Test century earlier today.
