Former England wicketkeeper Geraint Jones will depart Kent at the end of the season.

The 38-year-old, who had a brief loan stint with Gloucestershire earlier this summer, made his debut for Kent in 2001 and went on to score over 10,000 runs for the county in all formats of the game.

However, following a 13-year association with the Spitfires, it has been decided that Jones will not have his current contract extended.

"I would like to thank the members and supporters for the backing they have given me over my time at Kent. I will look back with a tremendous amount of pride on all that I have achieved with the county," Jones told the club's official website.

Jones was a member of the England side that won The Ashes back in 2005.
