Rob Key has revealed that he stepped down as captain of Kent for the good of his own game.
The 33-year-old went public with his decision yesterday following a five-year stint as skipper.
"I just want to concentrate on myself and getting back to scoring the runs I did before I was a captain," he told BBC South East.
"When you're the captain you're that much more desperate to do well. With that comes pressure."
Key, who came through the ranks at Kent, has been replaced by James Tredwell.
