The International Cricket Council have fined Pakistan wicketkeeper Adnan Akmal and South Africa batsman Robin Peterson half of their match fee for shoving each other during the first Test match in Abu Dhabi.
The pair pleaded guilty to the charge, which took place on the fourth and ultimately final day of the match when Akmal shoved Peterson out of the way while trying to retrieve the ball and the South African responded in kind.
"Deliberate physical contact is an action that does not belong in our game and will in no way be condoned in any situation," said match referee David Boon.
Pakistan went on to win the match, inflicting South Africa's first Test defeat in two years, and taking the lead in the two-match series.
The second test begins in Dubai on Wednesday.
