Pakistan will have to make do without the services of Wahab Riaz for the upcoming Test series against Australia.
The bowler picked up a knee injury during the recent second one-day international between the two nations and a subsequent scan has revealed minor damage to the joint.
"The MRI report reveals significant bone damage and damage to the cartilage under the knee cap and suspicion of a tear. The joint is also mildly swollen," read a statement from the Pakistan Cricket Board.
"Riaz has been advised to undergo a two to three week rest and rehab period before considering a return to impact and bowling."
Riaz is the third Pakistan player to have been ruled out of the two Tests, with Mohammad Hafeez and Junaid Khan also sidelined.
