Pakistan have drawn the second Test match with New Zealand after they batted out the final two sessions of the contest in Dubai.
Facing a deficit after losing the first Test, New Zealand declared with a 261-run advantage with just over two sessions remaining to give themselves a chance of a surprise win.
That appeared a possibility as Pakistan lost four wickets by the middle of the afternoon session, but Younis Khan and Asad Shafiq were able to get their team to tea without any further dismissals.
Khan got out for 44 in the final session but with only 12 overs to find the remaining five wickets, New Zealand never looked likely to overcome the hosts.
The draw means that Pakistan will take a 1-0 lead going into the final Test match in Sharjah, which begins on November 26.
