Pakistan have set South Africa a victory target of 263 runs in the second one-day international in Port Elizabeth.
Ahmed Shehzad's third ODI century proved to be the key for the Asian giants as they finished their innings on 262 all out in a game that was reduced to 45 overs because of rain.
Shehzad made 102 runs off 112 balls and had a 124-run stand with Sohaib Maqsood for the third wicket.
Maqsood chipped in with 42 runs off 59 balls, while Umar Akmal made 42 off just 30 deliveries as the visitors scored 82 runs in the final 10 overs.
Dale Steyn was the pick of the South African bowlers as he ended with figures of 6-39 from his nine overs.
