The Hobart Hurricanes have suffered an 18-run defeat against Brisbane Heat at The Gabba to see their Big Bash League finals hopes come to an end.
Some good work from Chris Lynn, who recorded 81 runs off 35 balls - the joint-fastest ever Big Bash half-century - saw Brisbane post a score of 198-6.
Lynn's spell at the crease set the tone for his side, and by the time they took the wicket of Shoaib Malik it was very nearly job done.
The Hurricanes struggled to chase down the big total, despite Ben Hilfenhaus and Cameron Boyce holding on, as they eventually fell 18 runs short for the loss of eight wickets.
It is a costly defeat for Hobart, who had a chance of making the semi-finals with a win in Brisbane today.
