The Kolkata Knight Riders edged to victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore by two runs in their Indian Premier League encounter.
Bangalore won the toss and elected to field as Jacques Kallis and Gautam Gambhir took to the crease for Kolkata, but it was a poor start as Gambhir was taken out for a duck.
Knocks of 43 from Kallis and 45 from Chris Lynn helped Kolkata reach 150-7 after 20 overs, while Varun Aaron shone in the bowling stats for Bangalore with three wickets.
In reply, Parthiv Patel and Yogesh Takawale racked up a combined 67 runs before Takawale was dismissed for 40 from 28 deliveries.
Virat Kohli reached 31 runs before getting bowled out by Sunil Narine, while Patel contributed 21 runs before getting sent packing.
Yuvraj Singh (31) kept up the run-rate, while AB de Villiers (11) was dismissed with just two balls remaining courtesy of a catch from Lynn as Bangalore ended their innings on 148-5.
