Scotland batsman Matt Machan has said that his side are "bitterly disappointed" after they fell to a narrow three-wicket defeat to New Zealand in the World Cup earlier today.
Machan top scored for Scotland with 56 as he helped his side to a total of 142 all out in the Pool A clash, before New Zealand limped over the line after losing seven wickets.
Machan told reporters: "Credit to the way we fought back. We took it as deep as we could but 140 is not a lot to play with. Bitterly disappointed, we've been playing a lot better than we showed today and it's up to us to bounce back."
Scotland next play England on Saturday.
