Hashim Amla has signed a deal with LV= County Championship side Surrey until the end of the season.
The South African batsman will replace his fellow countryman JP Duminy, who has other commitments with the Hyderabad Sunrisers in the upcoming T20 Champions League.
"It is a great pleasure and honour to have been asked by Alec Stewart to play for Surrey County Cricket Club. The Kia Oval holds a lot of fond memories for me personally. I look forward to returning there this year and hopefully enjoying similar success," Amla told the club's official website.
Amla is expected to make his debut against Durham next week.
