South Africa are in a comfortable position at tea time on day one of their first Test match against Australia.
The Proteas resumed at 90/1 after the lunch break to end tea at 186/2 at Gabba.
Alviro Petersen was bowled out by Nathan Lyon in the hour after lunch having scored 64 runs from 126 balls, but thereafter the South Africans took control of the match.
Hashim Amla went past the 5,000 Test runs and ended tea at 69 off 131, while Jacques Kallis is not out at 37 off 48 balls.
