South Africa have won the Under-19 World Cup courtesy of a six-wicket thrashing of Pakistan in the final.

It was the third time that the 'Baby Proteas' had reached the final, but their first victory following defeats under the guidance of current internationals Hashim Amla and Wayne Parnell in 2002 and 2008.

Kagiso Rabada, who finished the tournament's leading wicket taker with 14 scalps, helped South Africa skittle their opponents, but it was Corbin Bosch who did most of the damage with figures of 4-15 in Dubai.

Pakistan were bowled out for 131 in 44.3 overs, with only Amad Butt making a notable contribution with an unbeaten 37, and South Africa made light work of chasing down their modest target.

Captain Aiden Markram and Greg Oldfield put on a third-wicket stand of 71 to help them recover from a couple of early losses, and they eventually knocked the runs off four down and with 47 balls to spare.
