A century from Quinton de Kock has guided South Africa to a total of 270-7 in the third one-day international against India.
The Proteas won the toss and elected to bat, and AB de Villiers's decision proved to be justified as De Kock and David Miller got off to a solid start.
The openers put on a fifty partnership inside the ninth over, and were gradually making their way towards the 100-run mark before Miller was dismissed for 33 by Harbhajan Singh.
Hashim Amla departed for just six after De Kock brought up his 50 off just 51 deliveries, but the South Africans were in need of a new parternship to stabilise the innings.
The arrival of Francois du Plessis helped ease the pressure on De Kock and the duo formed a potent combination at the crease as they moved the innings past the 150-run mark inside 30 overs.
De Kock registered his seventh century in one-day international cricket, reaching the milestone off 114 deliveries, while Du Plessis passed 50 in their 118-run partnership.
Du Plessis fell for 62 to the bowling of Mohit Sharma, while De Kock was soon out for 103 when he was run out by Shikhar Dhawan, leaving the Proteas with work to do in the final 10 overs to post a competitive total.
An unbeaten knock of 33 from Farhaan Behardien lifted De Villiers's men to 270-7 in the final overs of their innings, after the skipper and Jean-Paul Duminy had fallen cheaply.
